We say seven canonical hours daily plus Holy Mass, which is the source and summit of our life.
At Visitation Monastery Akpugoeze, prayer is the heartbeat of everything we do. Seven times each day, the bell tower rings its call, and we gather in our chapel to chant the psalms, listen to God's Word, and offer our praise. The Holy Mass is the source and summit of our daily life - in the Eucharist, we encounter Christ most intimately.
We begin each day with praise, greeting the new day with psalms, hymns, and scripture readings.
The Eucharistic celebration, the source and summit of our Christian life.
We pause at noon to offer prayers and remember God's presence in the midst of our work.
As the day draws to a close, we give thanks for the blessings received.
We end the day in prayer, commending ourselves to God's care through the night.
All visitors are warmly invited to join us for any of our prayer times. Please arrive a few minutes early to find a seat in the chapel. Modest dress is requested out of respect for the sacred space.
